About me
With over 10 years of experience working across NHS lifespan health settings, I am a Clinical Psychologist committed to offering compassionate, thoughtful, and evidence-based psychological support. If you think we might be a good match, I would aim to work collaboratively with you to create a safe and reflective space. My hope is to explore any challenges or concerns with curiosity, empathy and creativity.
My clinical experience spans a wide range of life stages and challenges. I hope to bring an explorative, person-centred approach to therapy, recognising that each individual’s experiences and needs are unique. I enjoy working with couples and groups as well as with individuals. Alongside my clinical work, I have extensive experience in lecturing, supervision, and service development. I have found that such varied non-clinical elements to my work has enabled me to bring different levels of knowledge into the therapy room.
I value building strong therapeutic relationships and aim to support clients in developing greater insight into and compassion for their experiences. I have a clear focus on change and improvement. I always say to clients that my aim is to help you get to a point where you no longer need to see me!
Areas of expertise
My particular interests are working with trauma, loss and bereavement. I have specialist expertise in Clinical Health Psychology including adjusting to, living alongside and beyond a wide range of health conditions, including sudden and traumatic injuries. I am experienced with supporting mothers, fathers and other family members around fertility and during pregnancy and the postnatal period. Having worked in lifespan Neuropsychology assessment and Neurorehabilitation settings I am also skilled in working with people following a brain or spinal cord injury.
I am also extensively experienced with supporting people with emotional difficulties including anxiety, low mood, PTSD, stress and burnout, low self-esteem and shame. I have held a number of NHS roles with a defined staff support focus, so particularly enjoy working with Healthcare and other Public Sector employees.
